Hoot Grid Support
Need help? Email hello@tamanlabs.com. We aim to respond within two business days, and within one business day for launch-blocking or privacy issues.
Current release
Hoot Grid version 1.0 is an iPhone game for iOS 15.1 or later. This first release does not support iPad, Apple Watch, Android, or web play. Version 1.0 also has no ads, purchases, named accounts, or cloud progress sync.
Frequently asked questions
How do I play?
Place one owl in every row, every column, and every colored region. Owls cannot touch, including diagonally. Tap a cell to add or clear an X mark. Hold a cell to place an owl. Placed owls are final, so choose carefully.
Which devices are supported?
Version 1.0 is built for iPhone on iOS 15.1 or later. iPad, Apple Watch, Android, and web play are not supported in this first release.
I'm stuck on a puzzle.
Use the hint button for one useful deduction and a concrete next action. Every launch puzzle has exactly one solution and is validated for logical play.
Can I undo or reset a puzzle?
There is no Undo or voluntary puzzle reset during an active attempt. If you lose all three lives, Hoot Grid offers a fresh reset of that puzzle with all three lives restored. You can reset all local progress from Settings.
Where is my progress saved?
Your numbered-level progress, active puzzle, assist balances, and settings are stored locally on your device. They are not tied to a named account or synced to another device. Deleting the app removes this local data. Daily Challenge uses an anonymous Firebase identifier for ranked attempts and leaderboard integrity.
Does Hoot Grid have ads or purchases?
No. Version 1.0 contains no display ads, rewarded ads, advertising SDK, or in-app purchases. If a future update adds ads or purchases, the support page, privacy policy, and store disclosures will be updated before release.
What data does Hoot Grid collect?
We use a random installation identifier and limited, privacy-reviewed gameplay and device analytics to improve reliability and puzzle design. Daily Challenge also uses anonymous Firebase identity, ranked session/result data, and generated leaderboard aliases. We do not collect your name or email, use an advertising identifier, or track you across apps and websites. See the privacy policy for details.
Is Daily Challenge available?
Yes. Daily Challenge gives everyone one shared ranked puzzle per UTC day. Your ranked result appears under a generated owl alias, not a player-entered name.
Does Daily Challenge work offline?
No. Numbered levels are saved on your device and can be played without a network connection, but Daily Challenge needs a connection for ranked sessions, submissions, and leaderboard results.
How do I report a bug or send feedback?
Email hello@tamanlabs.com. Include your iPhone model, iOS version, Hoot Grid version and build, level number, what you expected, and what happened. A screenshot or screen recording is useful when it does not contain private information.
How do I make a privacy or deletion request?
Email hello@tamanlabs.com with “Privacy request” in the subject. Because Hoot Grid does not use named accounts, include the app version/build and any details that could help us locate anonymous Daily Challenge data, such as the Daily date, generated owl alias, approximate completion time, and rank.
